CBSE has declared the result of the NEET 2017 exam and all the candidates who had appeared for the exams can now check their results on the official website of the NEET which is cbseneet.nic.in. The results for the NEET 2017 exam are also available on the cbseresults.nic.in and results.gov.in.Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed the CBSE to declare the NEET results by putting a stay on the Madras High Court's Order of restraining the publication of the results. About the examThe national level exam was organized by the CBSE and was held on May 7 for giving students admissions into MBBS/BDS courses in medical/dental colleges of India which run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the cap of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.This year more than 11 lakh candidates registered for the exam including 1522 NRIs, 480 OCIs, 70 PIOs and 613 foreigners. The exam was conducted in 10 different languages at 1921 different centers spread across 103 cities of the nation.

According to IBM study, Indian higher education is unable to keep with the changing needs of the society and industry as only 40 percent of the executives believe that employees recruited in the local labor market have any requisite skills.According to the study done by IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) in cooperation with the Economist Intelligence Unit, it is important to address the looming talent shortage in order to prepare the India for the global competitive economy.61 percent of the surveyed Indian educators said that the Indian higher education system is unable to respond to the changing societal needs. Moreover, new technologies and ever changing skills present an even bigger challenge among the India higher education system. "Between 2010 and 2030, India's working population is expected to expand from 750 million to almost one billion. Without adequate education and training, such population growth poses increased risk of the emergence of a growing class of the under- or unemployed who are unable to achieve the Indian middle class dream," the study noted. For reforms, the study suggested developing more applied, practical and experience based education which can help in improving the educational access, experience and outcomes which are crucial for transforming the Indian higher education system and its complete work force.

On June 27, The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) declared the results for the class 10 exams on its official website at biharboard.ac.in.This year, for the BSEB class 10 exams more than 15 lakh students appeared in the examination at various test centers across the state out of which Prem Kumar tops the exam by scoring a total of 465 marks out of 500.Other toppersBhawya Kumari (Jamui): 464 marks out of 500Harshita Kumari (Jamui): 452 marks out of 500The results for the BSEB class 10 exams were terrible again this year as a little over 49 percent of total number of students managed to pass the exams.Data of the last year result In 2016, the class 10 results were declared by the BSEB on Sunday, May 29 and in contrast to pas percentage in 2016, this year, board recorded a sharp dip of 28 percent in the pass percentage.More than 17 lakh students appeared for the class 10 exams out of which only a little over 8 lakh managed to pass the exams.Pass percentage of the boys in the state was 54.44 percent which 17 percent more than the pass percentage of the girls, which is 37.61 percent. From 2018, The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will conduct the class 10 exams from February 21 to February 28 for which the exam forms will be available from December 29 to January 8, 2018 and the last date to submit the exam fee including the late fee will be January 12, 2018.

BSEB class 10 results: 50% students did not make it to higher secondary class

On Thursday, The Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) declared the result of the class 10 exams, which were held by the board in month of March and this time 49.88 percent students did not make it to the higher secondary classes.This time the board had taken strict steps against teaching due which only little above 50 percent of the students were able to pass the exams. Last year, the pass percentage was 47 percent.Prem Kumar of Govind High School of Lakhisarai district is topper of the class 10 exams, who scored 465 marks out of 500. Bhavya Kumar of Simulitallah School in Jamui district scored 464 marks is the second topper and Harshita, from  Simulitallah School, is the third topper. "Of the Class 10 pass-outs, only 14 per cent got first division, 26.8 per cent second division and 9.3 per cent third division," BSEB chairman Anand Kishore said. Class 12 result of the BSEB board also recorded low pass percentage this year. Kishore said that more than 17 lakh students appeared for the class 10 exams out of which only a little over 8 lakh managed to pass the exams. He further said "for the first time that codes were used on answer-sheets to ensure that no unfair means were employed during evaluation".Another senior from BSEB said that "the low pass percentage vindicated their efforts to conduct cheating-free examinations this year".This time closed circuit cameras were installed on the entrances of examination hall and during the exam videography was also conducted by the board. Use of any communication gadgets including the mobile phones were not allowed inside the examination hall.

Giving a major relief to the students The Bihar School Examination Board said that it will give a total of 8 marks in grace to the students who appeared in the class 10 board exams. Also, in order to prevent the toppers scam from happening again the board is taking every possible measure in order to carefully scan and survey the students. Reason for giving the grace marks According to the reports by Prabhat Khabar, the board has sent the proposal to the state government in which it requested the permission to award a total of 8 grace marks to the students. The reason being, the pass percentage of the students in BSEB class 10 exams can be improved, if grace marks are awarded to the students.Earlier on June 14, the Bihar Board sent the proposal to the principal secretary of the education department RK Mahajan which was approved by the secretary. On June 18, UPSC successfully conducted the prelim exam for Civil Services and according to the reports most of the students find the exam difficult with GS (General Studies) section being the toughest. UPSC, also, preponed the examination month this year. Earlier UPSC used to held the same exam in the month on August but this year they held the exam in month June. ITI admissions: Rising applicants and less seats

Admissions in Industrial Training Institutes have begun and it seems that rising number of applicants will outnumber the seats which are available in ITIs. In past two years there has been a spike of 14.46 percent in the number of applicants applying for the skill development courses and the enrolment figures have improved by 8.02 percent. In comparison to the number of applicants applying the increase in the number of seats is only 5.9 percent. The admission process was flagged off on Monday by the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) under which candidates who are interested in vocational courses can apply to 1.33 lakh available seats. “Some courses are for two years. In such courses, we increase batch sizes every alternate year,” said Yogesh Patil, deputy director of DVET, adding that the intake capacity is decided after consulting industry experts. The intake capacity is determined by the DVET in accordance with the sectors where the demand for the skilled labor is high. “While deciding the intake capacity, we ensure that the exact number of apprenticeship opportunities are available,” said Patil. ITIs offer vocational and industrial training to the students in order to increase their skills so that they can get jobs. These courses are available to anyone who has studied till class X and was unable to complete the senior secondary certificate exam. "Over the past few years, the DVET has made efforts to introduce unconventional courses and certain courses haven't taken off. Some students take up the course when they don't get admission to a desired course and drop out midway. There is also a lack of awareness," said John Almeida, principal of Joseph Cardijn Technical Private Industrial Training Centre in Dadar.
