One year Post Graduate Program for Executives (ePGPx) has been launched by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Rohtak. For the first time, the program has been introduced by the IIM Rohtak but is being offered by other IIMs from quite some time.The program will be a mix of online and offline sessions and will be delivered through state of the art Online Learning Platform. The main aim of the program is to provide practical knowledge and personalized learning with the focus on leadership.The course will span over 625 hours and will encourage the participants to reflect, analyze, critique, and innovate. Candidates who have 5 years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/professional experience are only eligible for the course. The programme was launched in the presence of Prof. Dheeraj Sharma, Director IIM Rohtak, who said, "The ePGPx Programme is designed to deliver cutting edge management practices along with well-established principles of management. The academic rigor of the program is ensured through excellent program design and latest management curriculum. The program will be delivered by the IIM-Rohtak faculty, which is amongst best in research faculty in the country. This program will provide the mid-career managers with an opportunity to accelerate their careers."The last day for the registration for the course is March 1st, 2018.

New diploma and certificate courses to be launched by ICAI next month



Executive diploma in business valuation, certificate course in arbitration, certificate course in GST and an exclusive executive diploma in Cost and Management Accounting for Engineers are the four new courses which will be launched by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) next month.Professionals, members and non-members, can enroll in these courses.ICAI Vice President H Padmanabhan said "valuation, particularly financial valuation, is emerging as an important profession, arbitration is a form of alternative dispute resolution and a technique for the resolution of disputes outside the court." He further added "GST being the major tax reform and a game changer, as a professional it was imperative to understand and assimilate the new taxation structure, associated compliances and the changes in business processes emanating there from." "Recently, the institute has been proactively involved in nation-building activities like providing impetus by supporting Make in India, Swachch Bharat Abhiyan, and GST One Nation One tax," Padmanabhan said.The institute has done the accounting system for the railway and will take up the similar task for Defense and Aviation ministries.

58th Kerala State School Festival to be a five day celebration



The 58th State School Arts Festival has begun in Thrissur and is one of a kind festival in the in the Aisa. Various events under the festival are organized at 24 different venues and the whole festival is a treat for the eyes. There is music, dance and art and literature fare at the festival.The festival is organized under the supervision of Education department in which 12000 contestants participate and compete for honors in 232 events. This year, many comprehensive changes have been introduced in the festival such the award system of awarding first, second, and third prize is removed. Instead, all the candidates will be awarded grades and trophies in order to avoid the unhealthy competition. The festival is also a great place for the budding artists to show their talents in the fields of arts and literature. Inspired by the success of the last year's festival, this year the also, the authorities have decided to go green. Bamboo badges will be used in the festival instead of plastic. For the first time participants, teachers, festival organizers and reporters covering the festival will be given insurance cover.This year also, there is the addition of three new events.

India witnessed a rise in the Gross Enrollment Ratio in higher education



On Friday, Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar launched the latest edition of All India Higher Education Survey (AIHES) according to which there is a rise in the Country's Gross Enrolment Ratio. Gross Enrolment Ratio of the nation has risen from 24.5% in 2015-16 to 25.2% in 2016-17.GER is a statistical measure which determines the number of students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate and research level studies within the country and expressed the number as the percentage of the population. The aim of India is to attain the GER of 30% by 2020, it's still lagging behind considerably from the nation such as China. The current GER of China is 43.39%. USA's GER is 85.8% and Pakistan's GER is 9.93%. According to the AIHES of 2016-17, Tamil Nadu has the GER of 46.9%, which is higher than the national average. Bihar has the least GER of 14.9%.As India is competing to get a rank among the international institutes of the world, there has not been much improvement in the internationalization of the India education. The improvement in the number of international students has only been marginal from 45,424 in 2015-16 to 47,575 in 2016-17. Of the total international students, 31,779 are men and 15,796 are women.

Maharashtra state CET has released the tentative exam schedule for Maharashtra CET (Common Entrance Test) on its official website-- mahacet.org. All the candidates who are preparing for the exam can check the dates on the official website or below.The MH CET exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates for admission into full-time undergraduate courses such as engineering/technology (BE/BTech) and pharmacy (BPharm/Pharm D). Successful candidates are eligible for applying for admissions in various recognized institutes of Maharashtra.Earlier, DTE notified that there will be no negative marking in the exam but the difficulty level of the exam will be at par with the JEE Mains exam for PCM subjects and for Biology, the difficulty level will be at par with the NEET exam. JIPMER to build indoor sports complex; Estimated budget INR 13.5 Cr



JIPMER, a centrally sponsored University, will have a new sports complex and according to the officials, the estimated budget of the new complex is 13.5 cr.JIPMER Director S C Parija laid the foundation of the complex and said "the complex would come up in 10 months' time in an area measuring 40,299 sq ft. there would be volleyball, basketball, throw ball and badminton courts in the complex. JIPMER had been feeling the need for the indoor sports facility and this is being met now."Students are also waiting for the JIPMER's MBBS applications, which are scheduled to release in the month of March. The exam is due on June 3, 2018. A tentative schedule was released by the institute in which it announced all the important dates regarding the exam, though tentative in nature.
