Fake Junior colleges | Odisha government warns the students and parents
In the state of Odisha, various fake junior colleges are operating and the state government warned the parents and students about the same. Admissions into various plus two courses will begin soon in the state and government reminded parents and students to ensure that they apply for admissions only through online mode. "The admissions for plus two courses in different junior colleges will be done through online mode under Student Academic Management System (SAMS) only. Admission in offline mode will be strictly prohibited," said school and mass education secretary P K Mohapatra. He said, "It has come to the notice of the government that some fake institutions are coming with advertisements in print and electronic media for admission into higher secondary schools. The students and parents are advised to verify junior colleges and higher secondary schools coming under SAMS on the website of the department before taking admission and avoid such fake admission." Students who will take the admissions through the mode other than e-admission (SAMS) will not be allowed to appear in the annual plus two exams. Annual plus two exams are conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Examination (CHSE). "Odisha government will not be responsible for any such wrong decisions taken by the students or parents," Mohapatra added. The government has also warned the institutions of legal actions who will admit students without going through the SAMS procedure. Of the many, one consequence is revoked affiliation of that institute.
