Rajasthan's ranking system for the engineering colleges lauded by the AICTE

Recently, AICTE praised the Rajasthan Technical University's (RTU) system of ranking the colleges which are operating under it. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is a body responsible for governing all the technical institutions in the state.AICTE has asked for the details about the ranking system and will redirect the same to other universities so that they can emulate it. This is first of a kind ranking system and is based on 29 different parameter--from parking space to size of the stairs -- and is available on the official website of the RTU so that students can choose from the colleges. Dileep Malkhede, advisor, AICTE, said, "state-wide ranking by RTU is a progressive step. It is very important as it gives the real picture about the status of colleges to the local people. HRD does ranking for premier institutes which may not help the masses but state-wide ranking certainly helps students in selecting the best institute in their state."He further added that other technical universities of the nation must also adopt this formula and help the students chose best of the colleges.
