Common service centers have the potential to create jobs in rural segments



IT minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that village entrepreneurs, who are running the common service center have the power to transform the India by creating job opportunities in the rural India.Prasad lauded the efforts of the Village Level Entrepreneurs or VLEs as he announced the initiative by the CSC regarding the women's health and hygiene called 'Stree Swabhiman'.The main aim of the 'Stree Swabhiman' is to provide the adolescent girls and women an access to the affordable sanitary products. Ravi Shankar Prasad addressed around 2000 women entrepreneurs including those from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and Maharashtra. "The initiative is driven by awareness and personalised outreach by women entrepreneurs who produce and market sanitary napkins themselves," an official release said."Women have played a crucial role as change agents under the Digital India program," the release added.
