Nursery admission chaos: Errors in consolidated list
Nursery admissions for 75% seats in the private schools are in chaos as there are differences in the criteria in the list of each school as displayed by the Directorate of Education (DoE) website from the district wise list and the individual list which is present on the school's individual site.District-wise list shows the correct data and most of the errors are in the consolidated list. The idea behind the consolidated list was that parents can find all the information on the single website. But, with errors, the move went wrong and created more confusion among the parents and schools. For example, the district-wise list for the Delhi Public School, R K Puram shows that 40 points will be given to the aspirants residing within the 3- km radius of the school however, the consolidated list shows that 40 points will be given to those who are within 1 km radius. Similarly, Springdales, Dhaula Kuan, has allotted three points for the girl candidate in the district-wise list; the consolidated list shows 10 points for the same criteria.Sibling points of 32 for the Springdales, Pusa Road have been written as 27 in the consolidated list.Springdales, Pusa Road, principal Ameeta Mulla Wattal said "We were asked to put up the parameters on December 26, and an official from the school had even gone to Timarpur — the DoE hub — to get the data uploaded. But the DoE website is still showing last yearʼs data on one part of their site. They are the ones who have to fix this. We have been receiving several calls".Manohar Lal, principal, DPS, Mathura Road, claimed, “Some news media used the incorrect information from the DoE website for their reports, which has resulted in problems for us.”
