On account of heavy fog in the Punjab state, schools delayed their timings
Ludhiana and Jalandhar district administrations have decided to delay the timings of opening the schools as their regions are engulfed in fog and wave of cold.All government, government-aided, affiliated, private schools and aanganwari centers in the Ludhiana were ordered by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Iqbal Singh Sandhu to change their timings to 10:00 am and these orders will remain enforced till January 12. Sandhu said "fatal road accidents have been reported in the state and the decision has been taken to ensure the safety of the children. " Amit Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Nawanshahr, has ordered the closure of all the private and government schools till January 6. Jalandhar DC, Varinder Kumar Sharma, has also ordered all the schools to commence their operations as late as 10:30 am in the morning.DC Vipul Ujjwal of Hoshiarpur district also ordered closure of the schools and anganwari centers till January 13.
