After court's intervention on Eligibility CBSE allowed registrations for NEET 2018

After court's intervention on Eligibility, CBSE allowed registrations for NEET 2018

"Candidates can submit the application form for NEET(UG), 2018 in compliance of the orders of Hon'ble High Court, Delhi subject to the outcome of the concerned writ petitions," said a CBSE notification posted on the official website of NEET 2018.Putting the hold on the operations of the CBSE, the Delhi HC laid down the eligibility conditions including the upper age limit of 25 and 30 years for general and reserved categories respectively. The order was issued by a bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Chander Shekhar who took into account various petitions filed by the medical aspirants who were aggrieved by the eligibility norms set by the CBSE for applying for the NEET exam. The court, while passing the order said that while candidates are allowed to submit their application forms it does not mean that they can sit for the exam.CBSE in its earlier notification clarified that the responsibility of the CBSE is limited to conducting the NEET UG exam based on the eligibility criteria set by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
