Mass copying case in Punjab: Affiliation of 7 schools cancelled by Punjab Education Department



The proceedings to cancel the affiliation of seven schools in the border district of Taran Taran have been initiated by PSEB (Punjab School Education Department). The decision to cancel the affiliation of seven schools was taken after case of mass copying during the class XII exams came into light.Earlier, the PSEB had ordered the re-examination at the eight other centers in Patti and Khemkaran areas as the inspection team detected mass copying in class XII's first examination.Some villagers in the Khemkaran area also took Krishan Kumar as a hostage after the crackdown on the mass copying.A press note issued by the authorities read "the Board has started proceedings to cancel affiliation of Senior Secondary School Khemkaran, Gurukul Public School Khemkaran, Hari Singh Nalua Public School Poonian, Santh Sipahi Public School Thatha, Shaheed Bhagat Singh School Valtoha, Sri Bala Ji Senior Secondary School Khemkaran and Dasmesh Senior Secondary school Valtoha. Department has already sent show cause notices to the schools."During the initial investigation, it was found that students from other districts have paid a huge amount of money to the school authorities to secure the examination center in the schools as they were assured of mass copying and clearing the exams with flying colors.
