CBSE cannot scrap re-evaluation policy: Delhi High Court

CBSE cannot scrap re-evaluation policy: Delhi High Court

On Friday, Delhi High Court disapproved the CBSE's idea scrapping the re-evaluation policy and said that even CBSE is capable of making mistakes. Upon the High Court's decision CBSE claimed that of all the requests submitted only .21 percent of papers have evaluation error to which the court responded by saying that .21 percent equates to 2100 students out of 10 lakh. “You (CBSE) should not have done that. You too make mistakes,” said High Court Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva when he was hearing the plea of class 12 student to re-evaluate the Math and English answer sheets. In this case CBSE's lawyer said that re-evaluation has been carried out and there is no change in the marks obtained by the student. Regarding the scrapping of the re-evaluation policy Justice said "Careers of 2100 students are at stake". For CBSE another hearing has been scheduled for June 19 in Orissa High Court to re-evaluate the answer sheet of 159 students. 159 students approached the Orissa High Court last week and alleged that there are discrepancies in the CBSE's evaluation of their answer sheets. The court then asked the CBSE to re-evaluate the answer sheets of the students.
