Mistake in totaling class 12 marks made by the CBSE

Mistake in totaling class 12 marks made by the CBSE

After much waiting the results for the class 12 were declared by the CBSE on May 28 but, now it seems that CBSE did not do the justification in declaring the results of class 12 as various reports are suggesting that huge totaling mistakes were made by the CBSE in declaring the results, which now has raised the questions on the authenticity of the nation's biggest examination board. After the declaration of the results many students who had appeared for the class 12 exams under the CBSE Board were very disappointed with their marks. According to the reports from TOI, Sonali, a student from Delhi, was horrified to learn that she had score only 68 marks in the mathematics. Another student, Samiksha Sharma was hoping to get the admission into DU but her hopes were destroyed when she learned that she had scored only 42 marks in math exam. Both the students applied for the re-totaling of the marks at CBSE. New marks Upon retotaling Sonali's marks were increased from 68 to 95Upon retotaling Samiksha's marks were increased from 42 to 90 "You (CBSE) should not have done that. You too make mistakes," Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva said. In amidst all this CBSE Delhi, High Court told CBSE orally not to scrap the re-evaluation policy as mistakes can also be made by the CBSE. Majority of mistakes in totaling were made by the board in Math and Economics paper. CBSE scrapped the re-evaluation policy in 2016 due to the fact that very few students applied for the re-evaluation during the 2016 year and currently board only does verification and not re-evaluation.
