Blue whale challenge: Madhya Pradesh Education body alert schools' headmasters
Headmasters of all primary and middle schools in the state of MP have been advised by the Madhya Pradesh Rajya Shiksha Kendra (RSK) to keep the children away from the online game 'Blue whale challenge'. It is an online game which allegedly incites the player of the game to commit the act of suicide.RSK has also prohibited the use of the mobile phones by the students of primary and middle schools. “The Blue Whale Challenge is a game started by criminal-minded people in which children get entangled and find it difficult to come out of it. In a few cases, children even attempted suicide,” said a letter issued yesterday by the Rajya Shiksha Kendra. Seeing the adverse effects of the game on the minds of innocent children, the use of mobile phones have been prohibited in primary and middle schools.“It is the responsibility of the teachers to advise children against the use of mobile phones and if they find the link of the (Blue Whale) game in any phone, they should take effective measures to get it removed immediately,” it said.During the meeting with the parents, teachers asked the parents to keep an eye on their children and prevent them from playing the game. The 'Blue Whale Challenge' is a suicide game in which the player is given certain tasks to complete over the period of 50 days and final task asks him/her to commit the suicide.
