Fate of 70,000 students of Mumbai University still hangs in balance
At least, 70,000 students of Mumbai University are still facing the uncertainty of their results as University misses another declared deadline.According to the reports revealed by the university officials, answer sheets of more than 50,000 students are still to be corrected while more than 25,000 students cannot be traced in the system.“In some cases, the results of two or three subjects are pending per student. Taking this into account, around 70-75,000 students are yet to get their results,” said Arjun Ghatule, acting director, board of examinations and evaluation. Acting Vice-Chancellor Devanand Shinde said that the university will declare the results at earliest but a deadline can't be set. “We are working to solve every case. Among the results which are on hold, some answer sheets are either untraceable on the system or have not been scanned. We are physically locating such papers and evaluating them,” said Ghatule and further added that we are declaring the results of 200 such cases on every day basis. In case of engineering students, the varsity manually declared the results of more than 25,000 students and this was done on war footing as it was urgent to declare the results, said acting pro V-C Dhiren Patel.
