HC asked TN about the steps taken to check the anti-NEET protests

The Madras HC asked the Tamil Nadu about the steps taken by it to check the anti-NEET protests and whether any organization is investigating the students.A student filed a petition and hearing it Justice N Kirubakaran has scheduled the hearing for tomorrow. As of now, he has directed the government to clarify about the number of anti-NEET protests which have been carried out and whether government has registered any case so far in this regard. The protests in Tamil Nadu started after a 17 year old medical aspirant named Anitha committed suicide as she was upset with the apex court's decision to not exclude TN from the NEET exam. The court also wants to know if any organization was behind all the protests. The court also asked about the status of the counseling which it had asked the state to provide to the students and their parents who could clear the NEET exam.It was directed by the judge on August 24 that state government should provide counseling to the students and their parents who failed the NEET exam 2017.The court on September 8 has asked the state government to prevent any further agitation on the issue related to the NEET exam and the suicide of the Anitha. The apex court had said that "every citizen had a fundamental right to peacefully protest and demonstrate, but they cannot cause a situation that resulted in violence and paralysed the law and order situation".
