James Dyson Award made debut in India this year.Mattam: Mattam is invented by a student of IIT Kanpur, Ashish Mohandas. It is a patient transfer system which helps in transferring the patient from one bed to another on a conveyor belt like mechanism. It can be attached to any wheeled stretcher and can transfer patients to/from beds. Savior: Savior is a motorcycle helmet which is designed by three students of IIT-BHU namely Naman Singhal, Rishabh Babeley, Jagjeet Shyamkunwar, Vikram Kumar Jha.It has two modules- one is designed into the helmet and other module is fitted on the motorcycle. By putting on the strap of the helmet, the sensor inside the helmet detects the presence of the human and turn on the helmet which in turn sends a wireless signal to the motorcycle to turn on. Accident is detected with the help of accelerometer and crash censor and sends the information to the nearby emergency services.Eco-friendly Faucet: It is designed by the Sandesh Manik of the Manipal Institute of Technology and this invention aims to save the water. In conventional faucet, most of the water just flows down the drain without touching the surface to be cleaned. The invention uses the technique called atomization of water which breaks the water into tiny droplets which makes it ideal for cleaning purposes.
