NEET 2017 row: Lawyers boycotted the courts in Coimbatore



The row over the NEET 2017 exam does not seems to end for Tamil Nadu as lawyer's in Coimbatore boycotted the district courts. The formed a human chain near the courts and demanded the exemption of Tamil Nadu from NEET. They also demanded that the education be shifted from concurrent list of the constitution to the state list. About 150 advocates participated in the protest including 30 women. They protested by raising the slogans and expressed their regrets over the suicide of Anitha, a 17 year old medical aspirant.Not only lawyers but students are also hitting the street, protesting against the NEET exam. Students have been actively protesting in Tiruvallore, Kanchipuram, Coimbatore, Tiruchirapalli and Thanjavur.The government's art college in Coimbatore has been closed for indefinite period due to continue dharna in a row. The students are demanding that Tamil Nadu be granted exemption from NEET exam as a mark of respect for Anitha.
