Regarding NEET 2017 counseling Supreme Court to hear the plea on September 22



Even after the second round of counseling there are still 1600 seats vacant in various medical and surgical colleges across the country.The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the plea regarding the third round of counseling on the basis of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scores. According to the reports, the plea was filed by a doctor named Senthil Nathan and the Supreme Court will hear the plea on September 22. The matter will also be discussed in front of three-judge bench of apex court headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra, Justices AM Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud."Nearly 1,600 seats in medical and surgical courses are left vacant after the second round of counseling across the country. Dr Nathan recommended a third round of counseling to resolve this matter" the plea reads.Since its inception the NEET exam has been the point of controversy which only grew this year after a medical aspirant named Anitha from Tami Nadu committed suicide as apex court refused to grant exemption to Tamil Nadu from the NEET 2017 exam.About NEETNEET is a single window exam, which is conducted by the CBSE for admissions into MBBS and BDS colleges across the country. The exam consists of 180 objective type questions from physics, chemistry and biology. The duration of exam is three hours.
