25 percent seats to be reserved for the locals in National Law University (NLU) Odisha



Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, approved the proposal under which 25 percent of the seats in the National Law University (NLU), Cuttack will be reserved for the local students."Students looking forward to get admission in the NLU will be highly benefited by the move. Though the six NLUs in other parts of the country have reservation for the local students, the same was not available in Odisha," said a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office.Who will be eligible for the reservation?Students of Odisha who have scored more than 60 percent marks in their plus two examinations will be eligible for admission to the National Law University, Cuttack. "It was a long-standing demand of people in Odisha to reserve seats for students from the state at NLU," the statement said. AILET to be conducted on May 6 Few weeks back, a circular declaring the date of All India National Law Entrance Test (AILET) was released by the National Law University, Delhi. The exam is scheduled for May 6, 2018. Every year, AILET is held for determining the eligibility of the candidates for the five-year BA LLB (Hons) program, one-year LLM and PhD programs.The application forms for the same will be available in the first week of January 2018.
