2,000 KV students to be taught Online under ephatshala project



In a pilot project launched by Ministry of Human Resource and Development nearly 200o students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan (KVS) will learn subjects like Math and Science on tablets. Under the project, the students will have access to reading material and therefore they won't require carrying books to school every day.Online submission of assignmentsNot only this but students will also submit their assignments and receive evaluation online. The final proposal for this will be, most likely, submitted by the KVS today to the HRD ministry. A senior HRD official said "the pilot project will probably start from July-August, 2017. The idea is to supplement the knowledge the students will get from books in the STEM subjects using technology". Under the project students will have access to ephatshala, which is digital textbook and resource material of NCERT. The project aims at sharpening the learning skills of the students through animation and videos in STEM subject.Tablets will be given free of cost For the purpose of training selected students from class 9 and 11 will be chosen after the final draft is submitted to the HRD ministry. Tablets for the projects will be given to students by HRD ministry free of cost and they can retain them for a period of two to four years. "The idea is to supplement the knowledge the students will get from books in the STEM subjects using technology. Apart from accessing the textbooks online through ePathshala, the digital textbooks and resource material of NCERT, the students will enhance their learning experience through animation, videos etc. in the subjects of science and mathematics," said the official.
