Scores for UPSC competitive exams will soon be made available

Scores for UPSC competitive exams will soon be made available

Union Public Service Commission will soon release the marks of the candidates in various exams conducted by the body. This is the effort on the government's part to boost the hiring activity in the private sector. Once the marks are available publically they will act as a useful database for the other employer and will make it simple for them to determine whether the candidate is good or not. Information such as marks obtained by the candidates and educational qualification of the candidates who appeared for the interview will also be made publically available by the commission. All these details will be linked to the Integrated Information System for Public Recruitment Agencies-- a website developed by the NIC (National Informatics Center). UPSC will also make provision for this in its application form so that candidates are free to opt in or out of the scheme."Necessary instructions to the candidates about the disclosure scheme will be provided in the Commission's notice of all the examinations covered by this scheme," it said. However, candidates who participate in the recruitment tests of the armed forces and central industry security forces will not be covered under the disclosure scheme."The government and public sector undertakings conduct a number of recruitment examinations. So far, the scores in these examinations have been retained by the government. Hereafter, we will make available the results and the candidate information openly to all employers, wherever consent is given by the candidate. This will create a positive externality," Modi said.
