Schools to display updated vacancy details on their school website

Schools to display updated vacancy details on their school website

Delhi High Court on Friday, instructed AAP government to make sure that the 2013 order of the Directorate of Education is being followed on strict basis. The order directs AAP to display the updated details of the vacancies in schools under the economically weaker section and general category. The direction was passed by a bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Anu Malhotra. The order was issued on a petition filed by NGO 'Justice for All' which was seeking the Directorate of Education's August 5, 2013 order under which the Delhi government was directed to display the total number seats in classes in a school apart from displaying total number of vacancies including that of EWS category. The plea challenged that there are thousands of seats vacant in the private schools on DDA land but no information about such is available in public domain. The plea further said that because information is not available, many students belonging to EWS category are unable to approach the schools for admission purposes.
