Bengal Group-D Exam: 25 lakh candidates appeared



West Bengal successfully conducted exam for Group D posts on Saturday and for the 6,000 posts available in the exam, around 25 lakh aspirants appeared. Out of these candidates around 5.5 lakh candidates appeared from the neighboring states like Bihar and Jharkhand. Most of the candidates reached the state a day before the exam. After a long gap the state government held the examination for the Group D post. Despite being in power Mamta Banerjee government did not held the exam for the Group D post. To help candidates reach the exam center on time the state transport Department deployed its full strength of bus fleet and ferry services. They even arranged the luxury cabs for the students so that they can reach their respective examination center without any hassles.The Indian Railways also played its part by ensuring that all trains are running on time Saturday.Traffic police and home guards were deployed in busy interactions which not only guided the examinees to the exam centers but also prevented any traffic congestion. Along with all the arrangements, police personnel were also deployed by the state government outside the exam centers in good numbers.
