This time dead baby snake found in Midday meal in Faridabad school
The quality of food being supplied to children during the midday meal is in question again as this time dead baby snake was found in the meal at a school in Faridabad. The incident took place at the Rajkeeya Girls Senior Secondary School.Upon the founding the dead snake in the food, children were told not to consume the food immediately but by then some students had already tasted it. The report from HT said "it was after one of the students spotted a small dead snake on her plate, an alarm was raised. The district administration was contacted and officials immediately stopped other schools from consuming mid-day meals supplied by the ISKCON Foundation." After this the food sample was collected and was sent to the testing laboratory in Chandigarh. A committee under the tehsildar of Faridabad, has been formed in order to conduct a probe in the whole incident.Dhananjay Krishen Dass, vice chairman of ISKCON Food and Relief North India said "the school had not shown them the snake that they found in the food. Our food is cooked in 120 degrees Celsius temperature. There is no chance that even an insect can enter our kitchens, forget a snake".He further said, after preparation the food is thoroughly checked and is handed down to the midday meal in-charges and the same procedure was followed today and the in-charge accepted the food against the proper receipt."We have lodged a complaint with the district administration against the school. They should have shown us whatever they found in the food," Das said.
