For ranking its schools CBSE will focus on academic quality instead of infrastructure

In an attempt to put an end to all the false claims made by various city schools, to make the admission process fairer for the parents and to help them in selecting the best school for their children BJP led government has announced that they will come up with the official quality index for all the CBSE affiliate schools.After ranking universities and colleges of the nation, the government is all set to pay complete attention on the schools. Benefits for the students According to the official sources, the new grading index will focus more on the academic output and comparatively less on the fancy infrastructure.After the quality index the process of choosing the right school for the ward will become a lot easier for the parents. Statement from CBSE chairman, RK Chaturvedi "We will accredit schools and the focus will be more on academic quality than on infrastructure," RK Chaturvedi said.The board has also directed all the schools that they must not indulge in any commercial activity and strictly barred them from selling uniforms, books and stationary items on the school premises. A senior HRD Ministry official in a recent PTI report said, "Schools come up with fancy buildings, charge a large sum of money, make unfair promises and false claims but how will parents know the truth unless they have enrolled their children in any particular school."
