Success story of Uttrakhand boy; NDA topper Shivansh Joshi

Shivansh Joshi is a resident of Ramnagar in Uttrakhand and has topped the UPSC NDA/ NA (I) Exam 2017. Currently, he is a students at NIT Tiruchirappalli, Electrical & Electronics Engineering but will quit the engineering to join Indian Army.The results of NDA exams were declare on November 24 and total 371 candidates have qualified the exam. Earlier, Shivansh scored 96.8 percentage in class 12 and cleared the JEE advanced exam but decided to serve the nation in a better way by clearing the NDA exam. 'I always wanted to join the Indian Army as the kind of pride, respect, honor, discipline and adventure associated with it is not offered in any other profession. Joining defense forces is the best way you can serve your nation. The syllabus for class 12 exams and JEE is quite similar. NDA picks more generic topics. But I ensured three hours of preparation for the exams and two hours of football and other physical activities,' he said to the leading daily, Indian Express. Congratulating Shivansh, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said, 'I congratulate Shivansh for making an informed choice; he has set an example for millions and has made our state proud- it is an another feather in Uttarakhand's 'already illustrious' cap- may he achieve more success in his military career!'He has scored 1026 out of 1800 marks in the exam. Second and third rank in the exam was scored by Anirudh Singh and Somay Badola respectively.
