NEET 2017: Medical aspirant from TN wants the merit list to be quashed; moved to high court

In a new NEET fiasco in Tamil Nadu a student moved to the Madras High Court and asked to quash the NEET merit list for the MBBS and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses because some students who are not from Tamil Nadu were given seats in the government colleges of the state.Pudukkottaiʼs D Vignayaa moved to the Madras high court and the court will hear her case next week. She has scored 206 marks in NEET 2017 exam and was called for the counseling on August 29. In her plea she explained that many students who are not from the state were granted seats in the merit list. She further said that according to the Supreme Court order, those who have already secured seats through All-India quota are not eligible for the counseling. She further added "the rank list was published arbitrary and contrary to Article 14 of the Constitution and against the principles of natural justice as the authorities failed to compare state rank lists and eliminate the candidates who already have secured seats" and demanded that a fresh merit must be prepared.
