In an attempt to prevent the students from taking admissions into the fake universities and colleges of India, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has exclusively released the list of such 23 fake universities on its official website and Delhi tops the list with 66 colleges, which are offering engineering and other technical courses without proper accreditation. More on UGC's report A total number of 29 such institutions are present in the country.The national capital is home to such 23 fake universities. Both UGC and AICTE have put this list on their respective official website in order to warn the students about such universities and to prevent them from taking admission into these universities and colleges for the new academic session which is beginning next month. Further, a senior official said, "We send the list of unapproved and unregulated technical institutions to concerned state authorities for taking appropriate action against such institutions." Measures taken by the AICTE In order to make sure that students don’t apply to these universities and colleges, AICTE has issued a notice to these institutions for not taking the approval.Public notices have also been released by AICTE in newspapers in order to prevent students from taking admission into such colleges and universities.
