Campus placement in IIM Calcutta: Student bags Rs 70 lakh package

Students of 2017 Post Graduation Diploma in Management batch  from IIM Calcutta received lucrative offers in campus placement with the highest international package touching the bar of 90,000 Euros per annum and the maximum annual package touching the bar at 70 lakh per annum. The institution said "The finance sector churned out the maximum number of offers, with top recruiters like Avendus, Edelweiss, Goldman Sachs and HSBC visiting the campus, as all students of the batch got placements within a record three days in the second week of February." There were total of 474 offers which included significant numbers of international offers as well. "The highest domestic package was Rs 70 lakh per annum, whereas the highest international package amounted to 90,000 Euros per annum," the IIM said in a statement. Maximum number of offers came from the financial sector and consulting sector was at second spot in offering lucrative offers to the students. In consulting top recruiters remain Accenture, AT Kearney, Bain, BCG and McKinsey, 15 percent of the offers were made by General Management firms like ABG, CK Birla and TAS. Offers from sales and marketing contributed to a total of 12 percent which were offered by the firms such as HUL, ITC, P&G and Reckitt Benckiser. Contribution from e-commerce and IT companies remained 14 percent with companies like Amazon and Wipro hiring in large numbers.
