Journalism project of Facebook hopes to strengthen the existing relation with the media houses and publishers

"The Journalism Project" is the new initiative by the Facebook and has been launched hoping to strengthen its existing relation with the media houses and publishers. Under the project the Facebook, will collaborate with the news organizations in order to: Develop new productsLearn from Journalists about better ways to be partnerWork with publishersWork with educators The aim is to equip the common man with knowledge they need in order to be informed readers of the digital age. As per an Indian Express report, Fidji Simo, Director of Product, Facebook, in a blog post which announced the project said, "We want to work with partners to evolve our current formats -- Live, 360, Instant Articles, etc. -- to better suit their needs, and work with them on building entirely new ones.'' "The Journalism Project" will work in following three ways: Development of news product under collaboration Facebook will collaborate with the news organizations with the aim of connecting their products and engineering teams so that they from the very initial stage of the product development Facebook and News organizations can work and build the product together. Training and tools for the journalist E-learning lessons will be conducted on Facebook products, tools and services for the journals. Tools for everyone Facebook will also collaborate with the third party organizations in order to understand and promote the news, both on and off their platform. This will help the community to gain information they need to make the decisions.
