CABE sub-committee held its first meeting for girl education
On boosting girl education, the Central Advisory Board of Education's (CABE) sub-committee held its first meet and discussed the issues such as safety in schools, lack of toilets and other basic necessities. Committee's chairperson and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kadiyam Srihari called stakeholders of the committee and asked for their cooperation in addressing the issues. Shrihari said that" it was necessary for all stakeholders and teachers to come together to resolve shortcomings in the system and overcome the mistakes." He also said "Lack of safety in regular and residential schools and hostels are also resulting in drop in number of girl students. A report suggesting various initiatives on this will be submitted to the Centre." The Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana also informed about the various pro-education initiatives taken by the government of Telangana in past few years. The next meeting for the sub-committee was scheduled to be held in Assam on March 31. This sub-committee was set up the HRD ministry in order to address the issues related to the girl's education and to analyze the causes which are responsible for the low participation of girls in education. The same committee is also responsible for looking into the social-economic such as gender bias and has the responsibility of coming up with the appropriate measures in order achieve the better gender parity index.
