Times higher education ranking 2017 ranked IISc Banglore ranked 27th best Asian University
Once again IISc Bangalore made its mark as it grabbed the 27th spot in the best university according to the Times Higher Education Ranking. For the second year in a row the institution managed to retain its rank among the globally acclaimed university ranking. India's Progress can be seen in education sector as this time 33 of India's University are among top 300 Asian University. It's a great achievement in comparison to last year as last year only 16 of India's universities were in the list. Few days ago, a list of 'Best small universities in the world 2017' was also released and IISc Bangalore was ranked eighth in the list. It was for the first time that Indian University has managed to reserve its spot in the top 10 universities of the world. According to the Live-mint report, editor Phil said in an email "It is great news that India has more than doubled its representation in this year's ranking of Asia's best universities, claiming 33 places in the top-300 list. It means that India is now the third most-represented nation in the table for the first time." Reason behind India's higher ranking It has all been possible due to the tremendous efforts put by the government into increasing the efficiency of its institutions, which helped India in climbing the ladder of global education. The editor also said " Last year, the (Indian) government launched a new funding-backed project aimed at catapulting Indian Institutes of Technology to the top of world university rankings."
