NEET 201: Will not include URDU in NEET this time, Center to Supreme Court



After long drawn battle between students and center on the matter of including URDU as one of the official languages in the NEET 2017, the central government announced its final decision. In a recent statement government told Supreme Court about the impossibility of including the Urdu in the NEET this year. Excerpts from the official statements: According to the reports, the government might consider adding Urdu language as a medium to write exams from next year onward. How the idea of adding URDU to NEET came: The apex court on March 3 asked for response from the center and Medical Council of India (MCI) about adding URDU as one of the languages in NEET 2017 upcoming exam.The plea for the same was filed by the Student Islamic Organization (SIO)To end this matter and reach final conclusion, the bench comprising Justices Kurian Joshep and R Banumathi asked the center and others to file their reports on the same. After getting the final response from the center, the bench now has decided to hear the plea of Student Islamic Organization (SIO) on the same concerned matter. Regarding the same matter, the apex court has also issued notices to Dental Council of India (DCI) and the exam conducting body CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). About NEET This year the exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 7, 2017 and it will be held in 80 cities at 1500 examination centers. CBSE is the body responsible for conducting the NEET examination as per the Indian Medical Council act 1956 and the Dentists act 1948.
