Delhi schools blackmailing parents for fee hikes

Delhi schools blackmailing parents for fee hikes

A school is a place where parents send their children for right guidance so that one day their ward can become a responsible citizen of the society. In India, schools particularly have been given quite an importance since the ancient times as they were known as 'temple of learning.' But, this is so not the case with the schools located in the National capital of the country. According to some reports thousands of parents were protesting outside the gates of the private schools as they were seeking a logical explanation for the sudden fee hike in the school fee. Many schools in Delhi and Noida have raised their fee without giving any prior notice to the parents. Also, no comment or conversation on the turmoil from the school authorities makes the situation even more suspicious. These educational institutes have become worst nightmare of many parents as they are looking to fulfill their unethical demands by putting the ward's future in danger. These schools are going against the CBSE norms as the affiliated schools are increasing the fee up to 50 percent a year whereas according to the guidelines the fee can only be increased after three years and up to 10 percent only. Talking to the reporters agonized parents said that school authorities owe an explanation to the parents about where their hard earned money is being utilized. Parents blamed schools as the facilities in the schools are not up to the mark and instead of acting as educational temple they are simply acting as money making machines. These schools are also accused of conducting the classes in congested basements which are actually storehouses.Instead of resolving the situation the schools are more focused on causing the turmoil as they are asking for the annual development charges from the parents who are seeking TC of their ward. Parents feel that situation is dicey and fishy as there is lack of communication from the side of the school authorities. There is no need to maintain the communication gap if the schools are working for the betterment of the students and if their demands are genuine, many parents think.
