UGC NET 2017: Registration ending on September 11



The online registration process of the University Grants Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) began on August 11 and within nine days i.e. on September 11 the process will end and candidates will no longer be able to register for the exam.The exam is scheduled for the November 5 and will be conducted in three different sessions.The exam is conducted by UGC and CBSE to determine the ability of the Indian nationals for Assistant Professor or for the Junior Research Fellowship.Eligibility criteriaInterested candidates must have 55 percent marks in the Master's degree without rounding off. Candidates, who are in the final year of their Master's degree can also apply for the exam.Age limitAccording to the official release, for the Assistant professorship there is no upper age limit but for the Junior Research Fellowship the upper age limit is 28 years as on November 1, 2017.Important dates Last date to register: September 11Last date for submission of fee: September 12Last date to make corrections in your application form: September 19Application correction: September 19 to September 25 NET qualifying criteria After the orders from Kerala High Court, UGC revised the procedure and from now on, only 6 percent of the total candidates who will appear in the exam will be declared qualified.
