Battling her illness, she score 8.8 CGPA in CBSE class 10
Tanya Jindal, a 15 year old girl, is suffering from a complex cellular disorder that her parents and doctor could not find a name for it. The young girl is suffering from an evolving and yet to be diagnosed diseases and since the illness could not be diagnosed she was denied the request of a writer for her CBSE class 10 board exams 2017 but in return was granted an extra hour to write her exams. The young girl fought her illness and intolerable pain only to emerge victorious in the class 10 CBSE exams 2017.In September 15, for the first time her fingers turned blue (cyanosis) and she suffered from intolerable pain in her muscles and upper right limb.“Since it was an evolving disease, there was no fixed diagnosis and treatment was mainly symptomatic. She missed the entire second term of Class IX. By the first term of Class X, she got a little better, but again started having trouble in the second term. My daughter has been extremely brave, but I think credit is also due to her teachers, who supported her immensely, helping her catch up,” said Tanaya’s mother, Sital, an ENT surgeon.Missing classes in school mean arranging a tutor in home for Science and Math. Tanya told that due to extreme fatigue and severe body pain she could not study for than hour or two in a single stretch. In class IX her school allowed a scribe during the examinations and family was hoping the same for the class X exams. “We sent an application to the board for a writer, but they needed us to specify the disease. Since it wasn’t exactly clear even to us, we couldn’t do so. The board has some specific ailments for which a writer can be granted. In her case, she got an extra hour, which was also helpful,” said her mother. The teenager said if she had been granted a writer she could have scored more.
