Haryana's ex-Chief Minister clears the class 10 exam from Jail



Om Prakash Chautala, former Haryana Chief Minister passed the class 10 board exam from Jail with 53.4 percent.The 82 year old ex-chief minister sat from social sciences, science and technology, Hindi, Indian culture and heritage and business studies exams in Hindi and scored a total of 267 out of 500.CB Sharma, chairman of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) told The Indian Express, "Chautala, who is oldest among the students, cleared matric exam this year from our institute." Chautala was charged with corruption and is currently serving a 10 year imprisonment.Admission in Tihar Study centerFor exams, he took admission in Tihar Study Center, Central Jail No 7 in Tihar Jail.The exams for class X was conducted from April 6 to April 24 and according to the reports 66 percent of the students have cleared the exams.About NIOSNIOS, earlier known as National Open School, is the board of education under Union Government of India. NIOS was established by Ministry of Human Department in 1989 with the aim of providing education in remote areas so that the literacy rate of the nation can be increased and flexible learning can be provided.
