Haryana government offered 10 percent relaxation to the students from J&K



For students from J&K, who wants to study in Haryana, the government of Haryana is offering 10 percent concession in the cut-off percentage. In this regard, a spokesman from state Higher Education department said "With a view to facilitating students belonging to Jammu and Kashmir and integrating them in the national mainstream, the Haryana government has decided to provide various concessions for their admission in colleges and universities". He further said "The concession on cut-off percentage will be subject to minimum eligibility requirement, and increase in intake capacity up to five per cent, course- wise".Other concessions from the state government to the students from J&KOther concessions from the government side to the students from J&K include: Reserving at least one seat in merit quota for the students from J&K in technical and professional institutes.Setting up of grievances mechanism for the students from J&K in every institution.Waving the domicile requirements for the students from J&K. "A written communication in this regard has been sent to all Vice Chancellors of state and private universities, Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and principals of government and aided colleges for compliance in letter and spirit," the spokesman added.
