INR 25 crore sanctioned by the Assam Government for Bodoland University
INR 25 crore has been sanctioned by the Assam Government for the development of infrastructure of the Bodoland University, which is located in Kokrajhar. Education Minister Himanta Biswa told the reports about the funds being allocated and said that they will be released by the August, this year. He further said "The construction work of the medical college at Kokrajhar will also start soon and all necessary steps have been taken in this regard. The state government has also allotted and extra budget and more projects are in the pipeline for the academic upliftment of all colleges in the Bodoland Territorial Area District (BTAD)". The minister was on a day long visit to Kokrajhar durng which he visited Bodoland University and BB Engineering College to review the ongoing work and also used the opportunity to interact with the students.During the visit the minister was accompanied by Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief, Hagrama Mohilary, deputy chief of BTC, Kampa Borgoyari and Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary.
