NEET 2018: Common question paper in all languages



Hearing the plea filed by a student regarding different difficulty levels in NEET exam 2017 in different languages, the apex court directed the CBSE to prepare a common question paper in all languages and asked the CBSE to file an affidavit informing what mechanism CBSE would adopt while conducting the exam from next year. Last month, a petition was filed by the group of students in which they alleged that the NEET question papers in vernacular languages were more difficult than their counterpart in English and Hindi. However, CBSE, in last hearing, denied that all these allegations are false. The Supreme Court also asked to bring the data of the students who managed to clear the NEET 2017 exam in vernacular languages.CBSE submitted the annexure, which said "in NEET 2017, 100152 aspirants appeared in the exam in the vernacular languages, of which 30817 have qualified. However, only one candidate has managed to score above 600 marks (out of 720) while under 501-600 marks category, 84 students have qualified".NEET 2017 exam was held on May 7 and candidates, who appeared in exam in Gujarati, Tamil and Bengali languages complained about the difficulty level of the exam.
