NEET 2017: TN government submit the ordinance to exempt the state students from NEET 2017
The Tamil Nadu government has prepared a draft of the proposed ordinance which will help the students of the state in getting an exemption from the NEET 2017 exam. The draft was received by The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday through special emissary. “We are hoping it would be cleared soon. The drafts has been sent to concerned ministries — law and health for their opinion,” Tamil Nadu Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan has said. Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitaraman had said on Monday that if TN government submits an ordinance for exempting the students from the NEET 2017 exam then the center will cooperate.In previous attempts state Minister including chief minister K Palaniswami and Lok Sabha speaker M Thambidurai had approached the PM Narendra Modi and central Ministers for the exemption of the students of TN from the NEET 2017 exam.Recently, SC assented to conduct the NEET exam in 11 vernacular languages including the URDU from the next year onwards.The SC also directed the CBSE to have common question paper for the NEET 2018 exam in order to avoid any dispute over the differences in difficulty level of the question paper in various languages.
