NEET 2017: Congress demands separate merit list for the students of Gujarat

Expressing the doubts that the students who appeared for the NEET 2017 exam in Gujarati may be at a disadvantage in comparison to other students who attempted the paper in English, Congress leader called the governor OP Kholi and asked him to intervene in the matter. The Congress delegation demanded that state government should prepare a separate merit list for the students of the Gujarati medium by bringing an ordinance on immediate basis. During the meeting, the congress leader said that the part would support the ruling BJP if they agree to bring an ordinance for the separate merit list of the students of Gujarati Medium who attempted the NEET 2017 exam in regional medium. The congress leaders told the Governor that there were discrepancies in the NEET 2017 question paper as the exam in Gujarati language was more difficult than its counterpart in English.According to the congress, in the absence of the ordinance more than 47,000 students of the Gujarat board will be subjected to the injustice in the admission. As of now, the first round of the NEET admissions based on the merit list has been completed.Congress alleged that state and the center did not take any actions despite being aware of the fact that paper in Gujarati was more difficult than the papas in English and Hindi and is threatening to intensify the protests if the issue is not resolved at the earliest.A protest march regarding the same will be help on August 17 in Ahmedabad by the Congress.
