Delhi High Court directs center and AIIMS to file replies as CBI registers case in AIIMS 2017 paper leak
On August 16, CBI told the Delhi High Court that it has registered a case in alleged allegation of AIIMS MBBS paper being leaked from the institute of Ghaziabad. The submission was submitted before a bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar, which after hearing the PIL ordered probe a into the alleged illegalities happened during the AIIMS MBBS entrance exams this year. The agency, in its reply, said that “specific questions in the leaked screen shots were used in SET-3 of shift-2 at exam center — HR Institute of Technology, Morta, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh”. “It has also been found that the specific combination and sequence of the questions was randomly and uniquely allocated to a particular candidate,” the affidavit, filed through CBI Special Public Prosecutor Rajdipa Behura, said. The agency further said that during the search conducted at the house of a student, exam center and its official, documents and digital evidences were seized.“A regular case was registered on June 13,” the agency said, adding that the “investigation of the case is at the initial stage, five witnesses have been examined and eight documents have been seized so far”.The court will next hear the case on September 13 and by then center and AIIMS have to file their replies.The case was registered when doctor Anand Rai blowed the whistle on the irregularities and illegalities which happened in the AIIMS MBBS exam 2017. He is also the whistle blower in the Vyapam scam case.
