IGNOU planning to set up 5000 digital learning center
In order to spread the education around the nation and make it more accessible, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is planning to set up 5000 digital learning centers under its regional directors. The news was confirmed by the Ravindra Kumar to which he further added the Central government has created an internet available communication network to connect 10 lakh villages across India which will enable the learners in the remote areas to access the digital learning opportunities. He further old that the educational programs will be undertaken in the northeastern states via distant learning varsity's newly set-up North East Council of IGNOU Regional Centers (NECIRC). "The advantage is that, this broadband connectivity will be a passage for us, and all digital materials will run on this broadband connectivity where our learners located in remote areas will also get access," he told journalists. The vice chancellor said that "IGNOU had signed a MoU with the National e-governance division of the Ministry of Information Technology to provide the entire e-governance materials prepared under the Digital India initiative and nation-wide internet network free of cost".
