Odisha government to launch mobile science lab for the students
With the aim of providing better education and scientific learning in the five backward blocks of the southern Odisha, the government came with an innovative solution and decided to take the applied science on the doorsteps of the children. The main objective of this initiative is to create a learning environment in south Odisha through multi-stake holder engagement which will include community, school, teachers and students.Chief Secretary A P Padhi flagging off the mobile school and community science laboratories said, ''This initiative has been started by the state government in collaboration with TCS foundation and Tata Trusts.''Areas to be coveredJitendra Nayak, Regional Manager of Tata Trust said these vehicles would cover Muniguda, Bissamcuttack, Thuamul Rampur, Lanjigarh and Kothgarh blocks.The vehicles are specially designed to support multi-purpose mobile labs which will cover primary and secondary schools in the blocks.About mobile labs: These special labs are equipped with different applications, models and charts which are based on the needs of curriculum of the schools. These labs will provide practical learning experience to around 25,000 students of 250 different elementary and secondary schools.These labs are also equipped with the audio-visual apparatus like TV, projector, audio, amplifier, solar power back-ups and others in order to provide support for science and mathematics learning.These vehicles have also been fitted with the GPS in order to track their movement at any point in time.
