200 Kvs and 125 Nvodaya Vidyalayas in India lack principals

In February, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar revealed that more than 10,285 posts are lying vacant in centrally run Kendriya Vidyalayas. Now, in a recent report he has revealed that more than 200 schools are running without principals. The report also revealed that there is a shortage of 10,000 teachers in these schools including the primary teachers. How the issue came into public eyes? The news came in public eyes with the rising demands of teachers and education stakeholders for filling up vacant posts in various Indian Institute of Technology and central universities such as Delhi University.Report also pointed that "10,039 teaching posts including TGTs, PGTs and PRTs are also vacant in Kendriya Vidyalayas besides 14,144 non-teaching posts." Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti faces the similar situation Report also point out the shortage of teachers in Javahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs). These schools are managed and supervised by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. More on the report "Out of 589 sanctioned posts of principals in JNVs, 125 are vacant while 53 schools do not have vice-principals. A total of 2,023 teaching posts and 1,734 non-teaching posts are also lying vacant in JNVs across the country." Last month cabinet had also approved setting up of 50 new KVs which will create 650 regular posts. The decision was taken by the cabinet in order to provide quality education to more than 50,000 students. In present time, there are 1142 Kendriya Vidayalaya which are functioning under KVS and three of them are in abroad which aims at catering the educational needs of the students who are children of transferable government employees such as defense and para-military personnel. They help in easing the education of the children by providing a common program of education.
