IIEST Shibpur and Indian Paint Association collaborated for program

On Thursday, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur and Indian Paint Association (IPA) entered into an agreement for a new master's program in Coating Science and Technologies for the upcoming session beginning from July 2017. According to the deal IPA will help IIEST to set the curriculum in a more industry specific manner and will also help in organizing the development programs for the faculty members which will help them in getting more industry exposure. "This collaborative education and research program will go a long way in creating appropriate manpower who will be able to serve the coating industry - an extremely important segment of the manufacturing industry. Our collaboration will be based on development of advanced technology in the area of corrosion and coating," Ajoy Kumar Ray, Director, IIEST, said during the signing.The deal between the two institutes was singed in the presence of Ray.IPA will also develop the innovative solution based on technology in the related areas. Joint research projects and joint academic activities such as short term courses, workshops and seminars will also be formulated under the joint program. From the partnership two major outcomes which are expected are Internships and placements.
