JEE Main 2017: Analysis of paper I

The JEE Main exam, which is the nation's biggest engineering entrance exam was successfully conducted by the CBSE in online and offline mode on April 2. Regarding the exam, students had mixed opinion. Some students found the exam simple and predicted while for others the exam was a bit difficult. "The exam was easy and direct. I solved the questions very quickly and most of the questions were asked from the syllabus. Chemistry and Physics questions were directly asked from NCERT book, but Mathematics section was a bit lengthy," says a student Yash Panwar "The exam was of moderate level. I would not say too difficult also, but I would say some part of Mathematics questions were too lengthy to solve and it took a lot of time. I failed to give much of time to Physics and Chemistry," says another student.The question paper consisted of three parts namely A, B and C, which had questions from subjects physics, chemistry and mathematics. There were 30 questions in each section and each section carried equal weight age. The duration of the test was 3 hours.In JEE main exam more than 12 lakh students appeared who are now competing to secure engineering seat in their dream college. Out of 12 lakh only 2.2 lakh students will qualify for the JEE advanced exam, which Joint Admission Board of the IITs will be conducting. CBSE however, will publish a merit list based on the JEE mains score through which students can get the admission in their desired engineering college such as NITs, IIITs and Central Funded Technical Institutes.
