Guidelines to prevent the suicide in junior colleges issued by the BIE of Andhra Pradesh

In an attempt to prevent the cases of suicide in the Junior College, a list of guidelines have been issued by the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE). The recommendations in the report are based on the 2 member committee and the recommendations have been released by the Board officially. The recommendations cover the sensitive subject matters like: Teacher-student relationParents-student relation They are also focusing on enhancing the other aspects of the teaching environment in junior colleges. For starters, the board has decided not to publically display the marks of the students on the notice board. These junior colleges impart degrees to the students which is considered equivalent to the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC). This attempt is similar to the Tamil Nadu, which decided not to publish the list of topper's in the board exam.Another measure taken by the AIB is to stop the shuffling of the students into various sections based on their marks. The board has also made the interaction of the teachers-parents compulsory, every six months.Other developmental recommendations have also been issued by the AIB for the overall healthy development of the students in the junior colleges.
