More students are enrolling in government school for studies: Manohar Parikar

Goa's chief Minister Manohar Parikar told that there has been constant rise in the number of students enrolling in the government schools. "The number of students in government run schools has stabilized. In fact you can see a slight increase in their number. Even in vernacular schools, their number is increasing," Mr. Parrikar said. He also made a vague reference to the fear that 450 government run primary schools may close down in years to come. This fear was expressed by the RSS leader Subhash Velingkar led Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM). "You might be responding to some news report that 450 schools are going to close down in few years. There is no need to raise such fear," Mr. Parrikar told. Responding to another question Mr. Parikar told that government will also conduct the survey of the buildings which are no longer in use and those which are being partially used, the remaining portion will be maintained by the state government.
