Soon technology solutions for the BSF from IIT Bombay

The Border Security Force (BSF) of India will soon enter into agreement with the IIT Bombay which will help the army in introducing laser fencing and detecting tunnels. The technology will strengthen the security of the Indian borders further which we share with the states of Pakistan and Bangladesh.BSF is the nation's largest border guarding force and is now preparing to implement the CIBMS (Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System)to seal the Indo-Pak and Indo-Bangla borders on western and eastern front respectively in order to prevent the attempts of illegal infiltration by terrorists and smugglers. “The force will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the IIT Bombay on July 8 here. The aim is to take the help of the experts of the premier technology institute in preparing the correct qualitative requirements for procuring the required gadgets that the force can deploy on the difficult borders and other areas that it guards and secures,” a senior official said. Sometimes back, number of tunnels was detected by the BSF along the Indo-Pak International Border and one tunnel was also detected along the Bangle border. In order to get the first-hand knowledge of the terrain the experts from IIT-B will travel to the front locations with the BSF in so that right solutions can be applied to increase the security of the nation.
